Pastor Chris

Pastor Christopher Gentile was born and raised in suburban Philadelphia. He attended Albright College, in Reading, Pennsylvania, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, in 1985. He did his seminary work at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1989. He has served two churches prior to coming to Grace. He was the Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Bridgeton, New Jersey, from 1989 – 1998. Most recently, he has been one of the pastors at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Trenton, NJ, from 1998 – 2010. He has been married to his wonderful wife, Tammy, for 21 years. The Gentile family has two children living, Adrianna, who is 19 and attends Muhlenberg College, in Allentown, PA. In addition, they have a son named Lucas, who is 13 and in seventh grade. They had another daughter named Gabrielle, who lived from 1993 – 1996 and who died from a disorder similar to cerebral palsy. The family considers Gabrielle its’ guardian angel in heaven!

Martha Noblett

Martha is a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church. She received a bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and has been teaching music ever since. As Music Director, Martha enhances our worship experience by leading all of Grace’s musical groups including the Chancel Choir, Grace Kids, Covenant Choir, Handbells, Children’s Hand Chimes and the Grace Church Band.

Mark Tezel

Mark Tezel

Mark Tezel is a third generation member of Grace, with his children starting the fourth generation. He has been active in parish education, youth ministry, and worship planning for over 25 years. Mark graduated from Texas Lutheran College with B.A. in Theology, and attended Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest for two years. He was certified as a Synodically Authorized Minister in 2004. Currently, he works for the National Park Sevice at San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Mark and his wife Alicia have four children, Jacob, Kaitlin, Samuel and Noah.

Betty Johnson

Betty Johnson

Betty Johnson, R.N., is currently serving Grace Lutheran Church as the Parish Nurse. She received her R.N. degree from San Antonio College in 1979. She worked for many years in the hospital setting, specializing in work with diabetics. Betty has shared her compassion and expertise in different aspects of ministry, including youth work and organizing annual blood drives.
