Music
There are a number of musical organizations at Grace Lutheran that provide music for the congregation’s worship services. In addition to the traditional lectionary based anthems, there are a number of instrumental groups and soloists who enrich our worship experience.
Grace Kids (Grades K to 4)
This is a group of 20 – 30 kids who perform both traditional and contemporary music at worship services throughout the church year. They meet each Sunday morning in the choir room.
Covenant (Grades 5 to 12)
A contemporary Christian ensemble who perform at various times throughout the church year. In addition, they act as ambassadors for Grace Lutheran Church by singing at retirement homes and to our shut-in members.
Chancel Choir (Adults)
The Chancel choir sings music ranging in style from Bach to Rutter, to contemporary Christian music. In 2003, this choir recorded a CD as part of Grace’s 100th anniversary. This group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. In addition to singing for Sunday morning worship, this choir joins voices with the choir from St. John’s Lutheran each year for the Easter Sunrise service at the Arneson River Theater in downtown San Antonio.
Handbells

Children’s Hand Chimes (Grades 3 to 12)
The children’s’ hand chimes groups give our youth members another avenue for praise and worship. Beginning with basic ringing styles, the group has grown into performing more complex pieces. They perform at various times during the year.
Grace Church Band
Created out of necessity during a time when Grace was searching for an organist, members of this group share their talents for singing, playing guitars and flutes as they lead the music for worship. They perform both traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music. Rehearsals take place as necessary in various band members’ homes.
