Missions

Grace has a long history of involvement with local, state and national organizations. Below are some of the organizations Grace is proud to support.


Grace Lutheran Day School opened in the Fall of 2010. Its goal is to partner with families to nurture young children through a Christian based early childhood education.

Grace Niños is a Christian preschool program for three and four year old children held two days a week during the school year. It was initially targeted to the immediate neighborhood and has been in existence about twenty years.

Christian Senior Services provides a variety of services for the elderly in the community. They are the organizing body for the Meals on Wheels program in San Antonio delivering more than 2500 meals per day. CSS also sponsors a Christian day-care for elderly persons suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease called Grace Place. There are three sites located in the city, one of which is in Fetter Hall. Grace members also provide a supportive presence on the board of directors.

Grace donates space on its church property for Christian Assistance Ministry which provides emergency help with food and clothing to permanent residents and transient persons in need. Members support CAM financially as well as serve on the board of directors and volunteer time in the warehouse.

The San Antonio Metropolitan Ministry is a joint effort of city government, local churches and area businesses to provide shelter, food, counseling job training and general assistance to homeless individuals and families. Grace supports this organization financially and with volunteer time.

Lutheran World Relief works with partners in 35 countries to help people grow food, improve health, strengthen communities, end conflict, build livelihoods and recover from disaster. Grace supports this organization financially, with quilts for the quilt program, a variety of kits and by promoting the sale of Fair Trade items.
Unicorn Centers, Inc. is a vocational training and job placement agency for adults with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Unicorn is located in San Antonio, Texas and provides weekly janitorial services to our church. The Unicorn customers are empowered to achieve their maximum potential for independence and productivity in the workplace and in the community through specialized Unicorn programs. The Unicorn Center offers life enhancement through the combination of half-day contract work, life skills training, job placement, job coaching and long-term follow-up.
